What are driver access cages?
- Driver access cages are modular security cages that allow a building to control access to the factory floor, distribution center, or any other building entrance.
- Driver access cages limit entry for truck drivers, delivery personnel, and other vendors to a contained waiting area.
- With a designated containment zone to protect visitors, you no longer have to worry about visitors wandering around the warehouse or manufacturing floor and potentially injuring themselves – a huge insurance risk!
- Separating outside personnel from your inventory and expensive equipment is essential.
- Driver access cages can be designed to fit into tight spaces within any facility and around existing equipment and tight door openings.
How can a driver access cage be used?
- Building access is controlled by enclosing the interior of a building’s entry doors with a wire mesh security cage, confining truck drivers and other visitors to a contained waiting area.
- When a delivery driver or vendor enters the building, they will be contained to an entry cage whereby they can check in at the service window to sign and pick up their paperwork.
- The visitor has no way of entering the building further than the containment zone that they wait in.
What are key driver cage features?
- Typically constructed as three sided cages that adjoin to an outside wall with an entry door.

- The driver access cages are typically furnished with a service window with a shelf to provide the driver a counter to sign and pick up their paperwork.
- The driver access cage also has a pedestrian hinged door for access – which can be equipped with a full width push bar on the factory floor side to allow employees to exit the factory floor at any given time, or during an emergency.
- The inside of the driver access cage is equipped with a simple key lock to keep the drivers confined to the secured driver access area.
